Out and About

Some of the more interesting things I've been up to.

Virginia Tech "Washington Entrepreneurs Summer Semester"
I had a great opportunity to speak to some smart Virginia Tech students on July 14, 2015.  We had an easy, interactive conversation about being an entrepreneur, marketing oneself, the value of impressions, creativity and pivoting in your business, and their projects.
I love talking to students, if you are looking for a speaker contact me.
Creating Raving Fans with Customer Experience
This was a fantastic (if I do say so myself) class I taught for the Greater Brunswick Area Chamber of Commerce (aka GBACC) on June 25th, 2015.  We talked about branding and customer experience, and then work-shopped three exercises to help each attendee leave with a plan of action for their business!  And we had crayons.
Ask me how you can have a class like this for your group!
I hosted the Greater Brunswick Area Chamber of Commerce Mixer on My 28th.  Not only did we have great food (provided by moi) I also ran the group through an exercise on Networking for Strategic Partnerships.  Doing and event with another business is a great way to promote your thing, while generating more buzz with customers, and having for fun.  For all the benefits of partnering up, you'll have to wait for the new website- there will be a post there :)
2015 Virginia Young Professionals Summit
This was a fantastic event.  I met a ton of really interesting people who are doing great things in the world.  I have added this event to my "must do" list for next year.  Were you there too?  Send me your thoughts.
Small Business Week
May 2015 Small Business Week went by in a blur.  I attended so many great events, and met so many great people.  Including the Lovettsville Business Breakfast, and the NVTC small business mixer.  Does your area do great things for small business week?  Let me know what great celebrations happen in your area.
SBDC Farewell Party
A lovely party sponsored by the Loudoun SBDC, and held at the beautiful Dry Mill Winery in Leesburg.  Robin Suomi and her amazing crew have been such a resource to me and my business, but also to my friends and clients over the years.  A very large hole has been left in the Loudoun business community.
